All of our analysts follow the HSE's 'Analysts Guide' when analysing samples using Stereo Microscopy to identify and isolate fibres of suspected Asbestos. To determine the type of Asbestos in any given sample, a Polarised Light Microscope is used to perform the following tests:

  • Sign of Elongation
  • Birefringenc
  • Pleochroism
  • Extinction
  • Dispersion Staining

This analysis is then transferred onto our easy to read certificate, which can be sent by either email as a PDF File, or we can supply a printed certificate that can be posted wherever it is needed.
